Healing Arts Project

Baby touching Kaiser Wall

The SUCCESS Optimists club of San Diego and Kaiser Permanente realized they shared a common set of values when Kaiser started their new wellness "Thrive Campaign". They vowed to work together for the "benefit of the children".

In a unique partnership these organizations are committed to transforming the dated, colorless rooms of Kaiser's pediatric unit into a bright, healing rainforest.

Art Explorer Project

SUCCESS Optimists and the San Diego Zoo have joined in a partnership to provide inspiring art activities for childhood victims of cancer. It is well documented that art activities can be more than an entertaining diversion from sickness, and can actually help in the healing process.

When children are in the hospital receiving treatment, SUCCESS Optimist Club, with the help of Joe Nyiri has worked diligently to provide a kit that will allow individual instruction, either in a patient's room, or the playroom area of the hospital.

My child's Rainforest Project

Porcupine Drawing

Out of these two projects, a new kind of outreach program centered around artwork and its preservation was born. My Child's Rainforest.org has become a key part of the Art Explorer Project. By taking the artwork lovingly produced by these children and their families, and digitizing it, a whole new arena of opportunity took shape. Now, artwork can be digitally preserved, displayed, and also as a fundraising tool, be placed on various gift items that the gift shop at My Child's Rainforest has. Take a moment to see the My Child's Rainforest Art Gallery, and learn how your organization, school, or club may partner with us.
